
Courtney Powell M.Ed., ALC, NCC

Courtney Powell is a compassionate counselor dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and families through life’s challenges. She is an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with specialized training in trauma-informed care, play therapy, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention.
Courtney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Counseling from Auburn University and went on to complete her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Auburn with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has worked in a variety of settings—including schools, hospitals, advocacy centers, and community mental health programs—gaining extensive experience with clients from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
Her professional experience includes serving as a School-Based Therapist for Auburn City Schools, where she provided individual and family counseling, conducted assessments, and collaborated closely with educators and families to support student well-being. She has also worked in acute psychiatric
care at East Alabama Medical Center, provided trauma-focused therapy at Tri-County Children’s Advocacy Center, and managed day treatment programs for children with significant emotional and behavioral needs.
Courtney’s approach to counseling is collaborative, strengths-based, and deeply empathetic. She believes in meeting clients where they are, fostering resilience, and helping each person tap into their own capacity for growth and healing.
